"En el ombligo de la luna" (in the navel of the moon) The ancient word for Mexico, "metzlixicictlico" consists of three sounds of Nahuatl (indigenous language of the Aztecs): "metztli" means moon, "xictlii" means navel or center, "co" means place.
My longer stay abroad has made me a stranger in the country where I live and a mere visitor in my country of origin. In this form of homesickness and alienation, when I visit my country, always for short and sporadic periods, I seek refuge in its folklore, the great, colorful and diverse culture that characterizes Mexico.

This is not a photographic series, but a compilation of landscapes: Natural and urban landscapes, socio-economic and cultural landscapes, landscapes of tradition and counter-culture.
